About Reading Comprehension exercises
Each exercise in this section is a short reading text followed by multiple-choice questions. The texts run from A2 to C1. At A2 and B1 they include a postcard, a school notice, a booking email and short articles on everyday subjects. At B2 and C1 they move to longer texts on work, science, the environment and technology.
Start by reading the title and the first sentence to guess the subject. Then read the whole text once without stopping at unknown words. Read each question carefully and go back to the text to find the sentence that answers it. Do not choose an answer only because a word from the text appears in it. Wrong options often use the same words but change the meaning. When a word is new, look at the words around it before you look it up. The feedback after each question shows which part of the text supports the correct answer, so use it to check your own reading.
