About IELTS Health vocabulary exercises
Health and medicine appears across all IELTS paper types — in reading texts about healthcare systems, in Writing Task 2 questions about public health policy, and in Speaking Part 3 discussions about lifestyle and wellbeing. A strong medical vocabulary is critical for Band 7 targets.
These exercises target the health vocabulary clusters most frequently tested in IELTS: healthcare systems (public health, preventive medicine, universal healthcare, mortality rate), lifestyle vocabulary (sedentary, nutrition, obesity, cardiovascular), and medical research collocations (clinical trial, treatment efficacy, patient outcomes). Each exercise is designed to help you choose the right word in formal academic sentences — exactly the skill IELTS Writing rewards.
Questions are set in formal medical, public-health, or policy contexts, matching the register of IELTS Academic Reading texts and Writing Task 2 arguments. Sets are calibrated for B1–C1 learners targeting Band 6.0–7.0 and above.
