About IELTS Academic Vocabulary Practice
IELTS Academic tests the vocabulary of educated, non-specialist English used in university lectures, academic journals, and formal reports. Our IELTS vocabulary exercises target the six topic areas most prominent in the Reading and Writing tasks: environment and climate, technology and innovation, health and medicine, education and learning, society and culture, and economics and development.
Exercises are pitched at B2 and C1 CEFR levels to match the vocabulary density of the IELTS Academic paper. Both gap-fill and multiple-choice formats appear, with explanations after each answer so you understand not just which word fits but why — a key habit for achieving Band 7 and above.
